Advanced Cotillion Dancers

ADVANCED COTILLION DANCERS:
You are the development team, teacher assistant trainees, and media production interns for our creative laboratory here at Arts Impact Foundation. If accepted into the program, your learning adventure will cover deeper social skills, body language training, choreography and dance technique in a variety of dance genres. Occasionally a performance in the community, or field trip as part of training will be optional. Your training may lead to a paid job, or connections to paid jobs, after you turn 18, but is not guaranteed.

Cost:
Monthly dues $45, plus optional field trips, out of pocket (minimal) expenses to be paid direct on location for field trips and minimal costuming expenses.
Charter funds: $60 per month, plus optional field trips, out of pocket (minimal) expenses to be paid direct on location for field trips and minimal costuming expenses.

Take a break from monthly dues, a pause, anytime you like with 30 day written notice. Come back anytime you like.

Requirements:
– Prerequisite 3rd year+ Cotillion students
– Concurrent enrollment Cotillion
– Proven mastery of basic social skills, people skills, some dance basics in any form of dance, a team player.
– Attend minimum 1 meeting per month.
– Willing to lead, assist and work. May accept or decline any assignment.

Merit:
Advanced Cotillion Students are on a merit system. Well done assignments, reliability and follow through will earn merit and determine rank and position for down the road paid jobs. Paid jobs and/or performance and assistant opportunities are not guaranteed, yet students may excel by earning merit points in Advanced Cotillion Dancers Club and may be offered performance and job opportunities, fairly based on merit ranking, not favoritism.

Application:
– All who apply will be scheduled for in person interview with a parent and our STAFF to discuss compatibility and benefits. Not all who apply will be accepted, there are limited spaces available.

Minimum Time Commitment: 1 (minimum required) to 3 times per month, in addition to Cotillion.

Schedule:
Sunday late afternoon/early evenings, Monday late afternoon/early evenings and/or other days will be offered. Each project meeting is approximately 2 hours in duration and is on an RSVP basis, Advanced Cotillion Dancers may accept or decline. Potentially as we get more projects going, members could meet weekly or more. Or, the commitment may remain minimal, one two hour meeting per month. Price is the same either way.

It’s workshop style, come as you are, in comfortable clothes and shoes to dance in. You will polish and perfect all the dances you have done in the past, plus more, including more social skills and body language exercises. Have you been wanting to learn Lindy Hop? Dance routines with a partner? Dips, lifts, tricks? World Dances? Micro Expression? Or take field trips to interesting workshops and classes as a group? Do a Flash Mob?

Location: Varies, and may rotate between Brea, HB, Newport and South Bay.
